Industry Standards

The RESP Dealers Association of Canada (RESPDAC) emphasizes the importance of fair, honest, responsive and responsible dealings with all its stakeholder groups – including potential and existing subscribers, regulators, vendors, the media, the general public, employees and other member companies.

Dealing Representative Proficiency Course

RESPDAC has developed a Dealing Representative Proficiency Course as the initial training and proficiency  requirement for new Sales Representatives. This course has been accepted by the securities regulators in each province and territory as the  educational prerequisite to licensing as a Sales Representative for a Scholarship Plan Dealer.

Branch Manager Proficiency Course

This course has been developed by RESPDAC and is designed to help in the development of effective Branch Managers.   It is acknowledged as a prerequisite for appointment as a Branch Manager of a Scholarship Plan Dealer. It is expected that all potential Branch Manager candidates will have already completed the education programs required for registration as a Sales Representative (see Sales Representative Proficiency Course) and have significant practical experience in the industry.

RESPDAC Code of Ethics

The members of RESPDAC have a Code of Ethics which reflects their joint commitment to ensuring that all companies within the Association operate with the highest standards of integrity, cooperation and dedication to their plan holders and families. View the PDF ›
